En avant la science
Spring is here, already! There is more activity around Vagabond now, it seems polar night was a long time ago... Friends came, a polar bear passed, sun is almost high at noon, and a lot of snow fell. Radiometers are now on their mast, recording light intensity reflected by sea ice, compare to the light received. First ice cores have been be sampled, we are watching for seaweed bloom. The electromagnetic icemeter, during its regular trips, is still looking at pack ice health. While the weather station is telling us everything, even when it is not good to put a dog out! And as for the last five years, the CTD is analysing again the fjord waters, and the incredible quantity of salt rejected by the rapidly growing pack ice.
