25 tons. This is the weight of Vagabond, when her tanks are empty. She is now on land for the winter, far from pack ice, but we are taking care of her before next departure.
Terres Insolites
Projection of Sous les étoiles du pôle, book signing of Circumpolaris and meeting with the public at the second festival Terres Insolites, organised by Délires d’encre, at the Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle de Toulouse, November 20th and 21st. Two dates:
Saturday 20th at 15:00: café nomade "Faire partager une expédition"
Sunday 21st at 14:30: conference "5 years in the ice, with the family, for science"
Logonna-Daoulas
France presents the five winterings of Vagabond in Spitsberg (2004-2009), at 14:00, to the kids of the school, in relation with the exhibition Grand Nord Grand Sud in Daoulas abbey.
Moulin Blanc
Last days at sea for Vagabond, at Moulin Blanc Marina in Brest (Brittany), before going to shipyard on shore for maintenance. While Ecotroll will be heading to Paris in two days.
Périples et Cie
Projection of the film Sous les étoiles du pôle, and meeting with the public, at the Festival de films d'aventure et de voyage, organised by Périples et Cie in Mâcon. November 7th 2010 at 14:30.
Savanturiers
Vagabond participates to the Savanturiers, where science and adventure meet, in Lorient, from October 29th to 31st, on board La Thalassa.
Festival du Vent
Witnessing on Omegasails kites, used in Greenland on board Ecotroll. Demonstration with Vincent Leblond, founder of Omegasails, at Festival du Vent in Calvi, Corsica, from October 27th to 31st 2010.
Les deux premiers
Saturday night, while Børge Ousland trimaran's crew was having a party at Oslo Fram Museum, the seven Russians of Peter 1st's crew were also celebrating the first journey around the Arctic, in Grimstad, 200 km from Norway's capital... read here Børge's interview.
La boucle est bouclée
There will be a party in Oslo on 23rd October when the trimaran Northern Passage will arrive: 4 months only to sail around the Arctic, 12 months less than Vagabond ! Peter 1st is in Faroe Islands, the Russian crew should also arrive soon.
Before Vagabond's next departure, we are taking part to some events.
